Cultivating a Thriving PhD Network Through Engaging Events and Opportunities 

Event Design & Management 

I manage all aspects of the PhD Network events, from initial design and planning to successful delivery. This involves understanding community needs through conducting  reviews and responding to their feedback in order to consistently improve the event quality and delegate experience, and to best fulfil the students' needs. Other responsibilities includes:

• Event design, planning and delivery  
• Scouting for relevant speakers
• Booking the venue and catering 
• Communications and engagement management 
• Post event analysis and feedback
• Collecting and circulating  development and funding opportunities  

Outcomes

• Facilitated Interdisciplinary Connections: Facilitated networking opportunities for PhD students across different faculties at UoM, fostering collaboration and cross-pollination of ideas.
  
• Enhanced Research Perspectives: Provided a platform for students to present their research through lightning talks and discussions, potentially leading to new insights and approaches.
• Increased Awareness of Support Resources: Highlighted the services offered by Digital Futures and The University of Manchester, empowering students to further their research endeavors.
• Enhanced Student Engagement: Provided a valuable platform for student interaction and feedback, allowing Digital Futures to tailor its resources and support to better meet student needs.
  
• Potential for Future Collaborations: Facilitated potential collaborations between students from diverse research backgrounds, fostering interdisciplinary research projects within the Digital Futures network.

• Increased Awareness: Successfully promoted the Digital Futures platform and its associated resources to the PhD student community.
